About the Role:

Gartner is hiring an Advanced Data Engineer with expertise in data modeling, Azure Analysis Services, and Power BI. This role plays a key part in maintaining Gartner’s Enterprise Data Warehouse and developing high-impact data products. Key Responsibilities:

• Build and manage enterprise data models using Azure Analysis Services.
• Design and deploy tabular models optimized for Power BI integration.
• Write optimized SQL queries and DAX expressions for analytics and dashboards.
• Create automated data pipelines to serve both data scientists and business teams.
• Work closely with other Data Engineers to support Azure Synapse-based environments.

Key Technical Skills:

Azure Analysis Services, Power BI, SQL, DAX, Azure Synapse, T-SQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Blob Storage, SSDT, ETL, Data Modeling, Git, Python, Java, NoSQL, Databricks

Requirements:

• 2–4 years of hands-on experience with Azure Analysis Services
• Strong knowledge in tabular model development using Power BI and SQL Server Data Tools
• Proficiency in DAX and SQL
• Experience in creating interactive Power BI reports and dashboards
• Understanding of ETL, Azure Data Factory, T-SQL, and cloud data services
• Familiarity with data version control systems (e.g., Git), and optionally Python/Java
• A collaborative, curious, and results-driven mindset
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
• Willingness to learn and adapt to emerging technologies
